In a world where TRT/HRT is becoming vastly more popular, I wanted to cover some information on this topic..While I 10000% believe every man would benefit from low dose TRT and testosterone levels from 800-1100 ng/dL (approximately) there are still some important things to consider within our every day lives to see if there are lifestyle factors contributing to low T symptoms.First of all... get your hormone levels checked. If you are a man looking to optimize how you feel, how you perform, mental drive, libido, etc etc why the hell would you not want to know what those levels are? And no sadly your pcp will not do this for you for the most part. Western medicine is the worst at optimizing anything -- rant for another day....Next, let's talk about low T symptoms:You may be feeling things like - fatigue, low sex drive, low motivation/self-esteem, or struggle with increasing muscle and strengthThese are all signs that you may have low T and I'd highly encourage you to confirm this via bloodwork as I mentioned above.Furthermore, let's look into the other lifestyle factors that can contribute to low testosterone.
- Sleep quality and stress - poor sleep significantly affects hormone levels, energy, and recovery, and high stress elevates cortisol (catabolic hormone - no beuno) which directly impacts testosterone levels in a negative light.
- Physical Condition - overtraining can lead to burnout and decreased gym performance and fatigue accumulation which also leads to high cortisol... make sure you are taking adequate rest days.
- Nutrition - make sure you are consuming a surplus of micronutrients and enough calories (specifically healthy fats) to support proper hormone function (also get tf outside - vitamin D is huge for hormone production).
- Gut Health - maintaining a healthy gut contributes to effective absorption of nutrients, reducing inflammation, and supporting the endocrine system - all very important for testosterone production.
If you are looking for TRT options or alternatives to TRT outside of the lifestyle modifications I will be doing another post on that as well. And If you need help optimizing any of these things or need sourcing for blood work - please text me at the number above
